How to read multiple files from a folder into one data table in Power BI or Excel using Power Query

When you have many files that are all of the same structure, you can painfully copy and paste many rows into one data file for analysis OR you can do it the easy way. :-)

In this lesson, we tell Power Query that we want to load EVERY data file located in one folder. This turns out to be very useful when you keep receiving additional data files over time that all need to be added to the same data set.

This demonstration lesson is done using Power Query in Power BI, but you can also do this using Power Query in Excel.

All demo files for this lesson are located in the following course if you wish to follow along.

Instead of combining, how to bring in multiple files from a folder as separate tables in the power query editor?

Right clicking "binary" in the Content column -> add as New Query
and then changing the names of the tables is the method I am going by for now.

But in the case of numerous files, is there any quick alternative way to import them as separate tables instead of repeating the above-mentioned process?
