Neil, I just wanted to let you know that a friend of mine who teaches English in Japan used BRODYQUEST in a lesson today that went very well. The lesson was about different mods of transportation and traveling, so she had them watch the video then list the names of vehicles they saw and the places he went.

Why does this whole thing remind me to an eerily accurate degree of the gothic story I wrote for my senior english class. Like, I used an innocent premise but then slowly intended on turning it to incorporate unsettling elements (starting with a box thumping like a beating heart, using similar language as the title) and added eye iconography as the grim punchline. The story took place before Christmas, too.
What’s weirder is not that I hadn’t seen this video before, no. In a way, it makes sense that both Neil and I would use standard unsettling elements in our work; you’d find that most people are unsettled enough by anything odd pulsating to put it in a story. It’s the fact that, the story I wrote, well, it was literally inspired by a FUCKING LEMON DEMON SONG! (with a completely unrelated premise, mind you!)
