Bjork and Arup: A divine collaboration

On 9 May 2019, Björk performed her new, elaborately staged concert Cornucopia, kicking off a residency at The Shed during its inaugural season.

As part of this program, Arup worked closely with Björk to create a reverberation chamber that enabled her to sing in a naturally enveloping acoustic space from stage, unaided by effects or processing.

In this talk, Wendy Lee reveals the acoustic engineering story behind our collaboration with Bjork. Filmed at our annual leadership meeting (agam19), last year.

Thank you for putting up such masterful work. I got the opportunity to attend Cornucopia in Mexico City and among all the trippy sci-fi galore the show offered, the reverb chamber truly mesmerized me. It was almost as if it was a living thing on itself.

Very interesting, I saw this chamber in front of me as i set in the first row at one of her concerts in NYC back in 2019 and I was puzzled and amazed by the sound.
