Every time you get another piece of this done, it puts a smile on my face. If it takes years to get this done, it just means we will have that much longer to enjoy the ride. As a person of comparable age and Star Wars fanatic in my youth, I share your love for this iconic droid. Thanks for sharing!

So cool !
And once again we are reminded that electrical things, like motors, work better when they're plugged in.

Cool progress on R2! You can tell there is some real time put into this video, Bob’s hair keeps going from short to long and back to short. Great video!

Remembering when I got My R5 rolling for the first the hard work, blood and tears lol to see him driving around was worth it. Congrats on your R2 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I'd put the drive wheels in the front and the omniwheels in the back. Decreases drag and also helps when climbing over uneven surfaces/cracks.

So much fun to watch the maker journey on a long term project.

Wonderful to see the lil dude standing on his own two feet! They grow up so fast!

I love how you are one of the few You Tubers who actually go through his comments and show his love for his subs rather than just saying the same. Just saying, the size of your unit is not to scale(in the movies they aren't as big).

Despite in R2's current unfinished state, he looks so real, so "alive." Great progress, Bob! Can't wait til he's done!!

Bob. You need the drive wheels in the front and the Omni wheels in the back. Trust me, is going to move a lot smoother. Also you want the Omni wheel to be slightly off the ground. Great video!

I know you've said that the R2 videos never perform well, but boy are they great. Thanks for keeping at it!

I love seeing you use tools like the Wazer. I know you worry about that - but hey, it gives us a lot of ideas and things to strive for. Now to get my garage cleaned out so I can build my own R2 unit, and get a Wazer!!!

Yes... I've been looking forward to an R2 update and here it is, a feel-good video just at the right time. I'm getting serious droid-envy though, he's looking great!

Really great job. Now that R2 has feet, I hope you have that restraining bolt ready!
