“Thank God It’s Christmas”

For years, I’ve had fans asking for me to record Queen’s one Christmas song, and can you blame them? If I was ever going to record a song with that title, what better year than in 2020, as it’s safe to say there hasn’t been a time in recent memory where it was more applicable than now.

The original recording from the early 80s is understandably synthesizer-heavy, as Queen was notoriously breaking out of their early “straight up rock band” sound at the time. This gave me lots of room to work in a more organic instrumental arrangement, which is what comes most naturally to me anyway. I really wanted to juice up the choir on this one to a gospel church vibe. I had a blast trying to make my voice sound different with all the different vocal layers, to create the illusion of an actual choir.

The "a" he has is IDENTICAL to the Freddie's "a", you can hear it for example when he say 1:02 "stars", or also when he says "bright", OMG, that's beautiful 😍😍❤️❤️
