New Covid patient discharge policy; funding for 70 cure proposals: Govt briefs

The Union government provided an update regarding Covid-19 pandemic in the country. Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, reported that the total number of Covid cases in the country crossed the 67,000-mark. However, India's recovery rate has also reached 31.15%, with over 20,900 patients cured. Agarwal also gave details regarding the government's new discharge policy for Covid patients, depending on the severity of symptoms they exhibit. Watch the full video for more.

Sir, with due respect your body language and your stats are very much dubious . Handling, treatment and misreporting of the corona patients and their actual figures says different story. A municipal teacher and her husband, who were test for corona, died next day after the test and their test reports conclude their death due to covid19 two days later to their death has enough to say the way governments has handled the situation since 19th January. Hundreds of labor have died and nothing is recorded at state or centre level, the actual reason of their death are not recorded. The data of death at hospitals is more than the data reported by the state govt. so, I don’t trust these political parties now who are involved in benefiting the self. Either it is purchase of corona kit on two fold price or PM Cares fund inaccessible to CAG. This is a colossal failure of the bureaucratic system that they neither were able to find ways to tackle the corona nor they find solution to more than 400 million stranded labours of India. What’s more, the suspension of labor laws is enough to impair the condition of poorer and has assured another nail in their coffin.

The organization has launched its COVID-19Innovation map and can include some of the 70 research and/or development activities. Based on the work in progress, results so far and goals, they might get funding from people aroubd the world.

7 days isolation after discharge or 17 days?

The new discharge guidelines are for a purpose - maybe to relieve beds. I hope more bed space and ventilators become available, especially in hotspots. Now, about 7 day isolation period - I hope all goes well as expected, or maybe increase the isolation period to 14 days. But, I won't know, doctors who have studied the disease and keeping tab on infectious period of the virus would know. I hope doctors were consulted before formulating the guideline. If this guideline is made in consultation with doctors, then no problem.
