Those rehydrated hashbrowns will crisp up & brown nicely if you let them sit undisturbed on a low/medium flame for a while with a bit of grease

I make perfect golden brown hashbrowns with that brand that ANY restaurant would be proud to serve. 1st, use a little less water than suggested, let sit fir 12 min, then poor them onto a paper towel and season. Preheat your frying pan to at least 400. Add 1tbsp avocado oil and 2tbsp unsalted butter. Make sure to mix them together, then dump your hb and spread evenly. Set timer for 5 minutes. Use a plate to flip like a big pancake, but add 1tbsp unsalted butter and cook that side for 4 minutes. You'll get perfect browns every time.

And thanks for all the effort you put in your videos, we DO appreciate it

To crisp them up, use butter & don't crowd the pan, make a thin layer & leave space for crisping to happen.

I did a similar breakfast last time I went camping. Nothing beats a hot meal cooked outdoors. Also, yes people do still use those can openers (my family does) and I like them more than the newfangled ones to be honest

i believe my mother still has an antique bully beef can opener somewhere, i miss the days when tools were built to last generations.

I use dehydrated hashbrowns all the time, to get them crispy you just gotta have a decent amount of oil on the pan and make sure they are flat as you can get them

Flood it in maple syrup for him! 😁 That's what I do with breakfast casseroles and I love it! For your potatoes maybe try to heat your pan with oil, let it cool down, reheat the pan and add oil again once it's hot, then you'll be able to let the potatoes sit longer without sticking to the bottom. Powdered onions also help!

I've gotten those exact hashbrowns super crispy. You just need more oil and to not move them around too much

They will crisp eventually!! 😂 I have the same problem I promise they do eventually crisp up you have to put it on low and let it sit forever! Just leave it alone don’t touch eventually you’ll see the edges start turning

Put some bacon fat on the rehydrated hashbrowns and cook them on a low/medium heat with a lid over them. Every so often give them a flip as best you can but you really just let them cook. It's usually the first thing that goes into the pan when I cook them.

The trick with the hashbrowns is adding hot water to the box letting them sit and cook in the hot water then add them to a pan and don't flip them till they are crispy it takes talent lol my husband usually makes them because I never do them right

The hash browns need way more oil and way way more time on the heat to crisp!

Can you explain how you determine what kind of water is good for drinking or brushing your teeth? I worry that bacteria found in fresh lakes can still get you sick. I'd love to get tips from you and Rudy!
