Remove Green Screen in GIMP in SECONDS!

If you want to remove the green screen from your background FAST and for FREE then this is the video for you.
Using the Colour Picker in GIMP on a colour that's the same, in our case, the green screen then you can get a great result in seconds and this will allow you to change the background to make it look as though you are somewhere else rather than standing in front of a green screen.

I'd recommend doing things differently... Firstly, use a Layer Mask to hide your selection instead of just deleting... that way nothing is gone forever, it's simply hidden, and you can adjust/paint the layer mask to get areas back or adjust the balance between what is visible and what is not. This also means you don't need to add an Alpha channel. Secondly, use fuzzy select rather than selecting by colour, that way anything Green on the person should be ignored (unless it goes to the edge). You can hold Shift to add anything you click, Ctrl to remove, and adjust the threshold for how similar things will be detected. Best of luck everyone
