Awkward Moments in Shannan Watts' Home Videos

Perhaps the scariest thing about Chris Watts is that he seems just like any other camera-shy, awkward boyfriend or husband.
In retrospect, we watch these videos and we spot the red flags but at the time no one pegged him for being anything other than just a shy partner.
Sometimes that’s all it is; sometimes there’s so much more that exists in someone beneath the surface of what we can sense.

In hindsight, we can watch her videos and see all of the red flags but I don’t think there was anything in them that could have been cause for concern at the time they were posted.

The creepy thing in this videos is not that you can see what he's thinking, but that you can't. There must have been so much brewing under that awkward, calm, detached exterior. He must have resented her for a long time and she had no idea what his true feelings were. That is the scariest part to me.

Over the years, I've come to realize whenever someone posts on social media about their family and how great and happy they are together....it's all an illusion. Not everything is so perfect behind the fake smiles.
I'm not saying that for everyone, but a large majority are usually just faking it.

This is the perfect example of how disconnected from reality the characters we portray in social media are from our actual lives.

I could never have been with a woman like Shannan who lived her life out on social media, but damn she didn't deserve the ending she had. Chris is the biggest coward for taking the path he took. Just leave, ask for a divorce, tell her you don't want it any more. Anything but what he did.

To be honest, I can't stand filming and posting to social media. The whole world knows your life, emotions, outbursts, private information, kids information, etc, etc. It's a recipe for disaster. Like, do people have a life outside of Facebook?
