This is a nightmare scenario that I fear many of our fellow citizens are unaware of.
But we can short-circuit that horror and shock the world just by winning the Midterms.
And we can do that by utilizing our influence with our friends and family in support of their voting.
Let's use our majority to its best advantage, as the Founders intended, and win this thing!

Shocking... This does not happen in other countries.. My country has the right in power right now.. Inflation is 10% so higher.. Food prices food shortages.. High gas prices and yet both sides of the political spectrum are all working together for the good of the people.. Its a scary thought that people would willingly make there people suffer for political gain...I feel for you

This is a rather chilling picture They really do see what they see, and not what I see. I do think the values and philosophy of this country are at stake in this election. Absolutely NONE of the election deniers should be allowed into public office.

I always love your show Chris! You explain and lay things out very well. All I can do is shake my head at the Republicans. I encourage all to work in campaigns to get Dems elected, talk to all your friends til they are sick of listening to you, and encourage all you know to vote and help everyone get registered. This is the most active I have ever been in any campaign or politics in general. I even spoke at a women's rally about my personal pregnancy experiences. We can not be lazy, there is to much at stake for our future.

As a viewer of MSNBC from Australia, I lament over the state of US politics. Chris Hayes has described, in this piece, a truly dystopian outlook if the Republicans take control over the house or senate. From an outsider point of view, the appeal of this outcome over the responsible and effective governance demonstrated by the Democrat Party beggars belief. Now, I believe that the sort of government that a country lives within is solely up to its citizens. However, it is of great concern to the rest of the world that a Republican dominated congress in its present schizophrenic state has the power, and stated intent, to wreck the work of the coalition from the rest of the world in containing the criminal invasion and subjugation by Putin's Russia. I don't speak for "the rest of the world" but I feel a sense of disgust toward a portion of the USA's electorate that can support the collection of miscreant that the Republicans are putting up for election at the "midterms", and from all the press coverage on the matter from outside the USA, I am not alone. This feeling of revolution for these people, and the consequences should they be voted in, is only matched by my feeling of helplessness over a situation that I have no power to express opposition of, despite the global repercussions that would ensue. For the sake of humanity outside of the borders of the USA if you care nothing for it within, I implore all right minded citizens of America to block those who would vandalise and ruin just to ensure they take power in the future.

Inflation is at 10% in the UK, it's not only USA who are feeling the sting of this. This is a global situation and cannot be blamed on Biden. He at least is helping the people of his country which is more than the PM of the UK is doing.
