Camel sounds | Spitting Camel
Camel (Camelus) is a genus of large mammals from the group of ruminants of the deer family, which includes two species: the two-humped camel and the one-humped camel. Both species are widely used as pets for transporting goods.
The color of the fur varies from dark brown to golden gray. The dromedary, which has only one hump on its back, has relatively short, soft, thin and fluffy fur. Bactrianus, which has two humps, has long fur (255 mm) and thick fur on the head, neck, humps, front legs and base of the tail. Camels lose their winter fur so quickly that it comes off in large masses, giving the animals a ragged appearance. The skin of camels has almost no sweat glands. Wild and domestic bactrianus cross easily, but outwardly they are completely different. Wild (as opposed to domestic) individuals have a sandy, gray-brown color of fur, short and thin hair, a small tuft of hair on the top of the head, slender body shapes and small, conical humps. Hybrids of bactrianus and dromedarius are characterized by either one long hump with a small depression or one small and one large hump.
Camels can withstand extremes of cold and heat and are good swimmers, despite the fact that most of them have never seen any body of water. Camels have sharp eyesight and a very good sense of smell.
