you don’t know fear until a lvl 15 illuminate mission. it only ever drops councilmembers that are tanky as all fuck and fuck with your controls if you try to fight

I was never an OG HD1 Vet, but during the hype of the initial release of HD2, I wasn’t able to play due to system requirements. In fervor, I bought HD1 on a sale and proceeded to experience the most genuinely terrifying isometric gameplay I could ever imagine. The dogs are actual demons.

Fighting in the creek, craters with water became my best buddy, calypso was usually a staggered retreat relying off of sheer luck and ptsd fueled adrenaline

to be honest, the creek wasn’t even that bad, it was just that Helldivers 2 was a new game and everyone was ass compared to now. If everyone was as good as they are now and had the game sense as they have now, the creek would’ve been just like any planet. And to be fair, some would say the gun balance _was_ a little lopsided back then, but I think it would be okay enough to get the job done in the current era of the game

I love how people who never even heard of the first helldiver's are going to check it out as a day one veteran of helldiver's from PS4 it makes me so happy to see people go through the absolute hell that was helldiver's one couldn't go ten steps without a scout and getting swarmed was a hell of a lot easier to happen if you weren't careful not to mention so much less health and friendly fire being a one shot kill almost every time
