6,000 year old extinct Auroch horn discovered in Wales
Показать описание
The relic is an auroch horn which is thought to be around 5,000 years old and was discovered by two brothers off the coast of Sudbrook, Monmouthshire who work as fishermen. Aurochs populated Britain in the Neolithic period and are thought to have gone extinct on British shores around 3,500 years ago. Aurochs were a species of large wild cattle that inhabited Asia, Europe, and North Africa and are the ancestor of domestic cattle. They were much bigger than modern cows, standing up to 6ft inch (two metres) tall at the shoulder.
