Howdy folks, this time, I decided I wanted to look into a person that anyone in America would know about. How a man whose skill could have led him to become a hero, but whose pride instead made him become a villain. Enjoy!

It is kind of tragic and ironic at the same time Benedict's Pride and Arggornace leads to his downfall, only focusing on himself and glory instead of liberty and his fellow compatriots. This video kind of made me feel sorry to feel Benedict and understand what traumatic events he went through. If only he tried to realize his impulsive behavior could do any harm instead good, then maybe he could get the recognition he deserves and could have been the most incredible man in American history. This is an excellent video Johs; I really enjoy watching it, and do you have a question.

Are you request what-if ideas on future videos by subscribers or only on your term? I really want to know, and again this is the best interpretation of Benedict Arnold; please keep up the fantastic work!

The events that shaped him into who he became meant his impulsiveness and even selfishness helped greatly at the Battle of Saratoga, which of course was an extremely important battle that helped French sympathizers to convince the upper class in France to go to war against Britain with the USA. Get at the same time it was those same character flaws that caused him to act selfishly to the point of betraying his own countrymen. He was the right man for the right battle, but he will also always be synonymous with the word traitor. So is the tragic tale of Benedict Arnold.

At first I didn’t understand why people were hating on Benedict. Even when he betrayed America I thought he was justified since people were getting credit for things he done. I thought because of that he betrayed America but seems like their more to it then that and I understand why he is hated. Great job on the viseo

How about Judas? He's often synonymous with "traitor" but wasn't he in fact told by Jesus after calling him out at the Last Supper to betray him ("go do what you have to do")? I mean it was His destiny all along to be crucified and then resurrect to save humanity from their sins right? And that ball had to get started rolling in some sort of way.

he was the first patton ! he did not get the credit for what he did ! so after getting crapped on time and again he moved on ! but still no one will ever trust a traitor !

I, being a veteran, have very mixed views on Benny. One one hand, I believe the USA would not exist without his early efforts. On the other, his wounded pride, a major character defect, drove him away. I have seen both sides of his story, and, irritatingly enough, side with him. One too many betrayals, one too many slights, not enough correct oversight... It's a recipe for disaster told manifold over the centuries. He deserved his fate by his choices, but such is life. Not to familiar with his dealings in Phily, so that might actually change my mind...

You know what? He sided with a monarch. That's reason enough to spit his name out of our mouths. Long live the Republic!
