This is a great exercise. That was pretty slick the way the face and hair went. :) Backgrounds are hard if you don't mix enough paint. I've learned this the hard way! Thanks, Liron! :)

I love these statue paintings Liron. Beautiful result. You teach well, and these are one of the few successful attempts on my part. I found out there's a name for these monochrome paintings of statues and bas-relief. It's called 'grisaille'- a French word.

I see you already shaded the shadows in the sketch. Question: can you make the pencil marks better with watercolor graphite or with a normal pencil, what hardness do you recommend? Can you erase pencil later (under a light color such as yellow, for example)?
