India is gearing up to host the G20 summit in its capital New Delhi on September 9-10. New Delhi is currently leading the Group of 20 or G20 this year taking over from Indonesia at a time of geopolitical tumult and uncertainty over post-pandemic economic recovery.

So what exactly is the G20 and why is it crucial for India to lead this grouping? How will India position itself as the Voice of Global South at G20 Summit?

There are 20 nations. Each nation hosts the party. Why is it so important? India simply squeezed border conflict into the meeting and tried to hi-jack the party. That is about it.

I know everyone is happy about the event, but honestly, the stage it was set to be It's a little disappointing that significant issues were not even addressed, The G20 was supposed to be a place alternative to the likes of the UN so that the major countries can make actionable decisions. Little Sad... :(
Nothing was done on Climate change (just more targets for reducing Carbon)
Nothing was finalized on taxing the ultra-rich ( the ones who own trillions) There was supposed to be a decision made in the meeting.
Nothing on the Debt Crisis
I only could see heads of state dressed up fancy and dancing and dining and the world economic affairs were the same as they were a week before just a few projects that were again more aligned with each country's interest for trade.

For me, it's still not the UN and NATO alternative that it desires to be. India has been head since the start of the year, and this is the first time it has released a statement or made efforts to roll out global-level projects. Just my humble opinion
