My father moved fromGermany to the USA in 1970, I was born in the early 80’s in San Francisco but when I was 2 we all moved onto a sailboat in Pelican Harbor in Sausalito. My father had gotten a job as a harbor master. I fell in the water plenty of times growing up, the plus side to this is I remember every time falling in and I was quite young. I adore the memories of laying on the docks with my chest over the edge pulling muscles and other sea life off the underside of the dock. Playing with little jellyfish, lifting up rocks on the waterfront and playing with the little crabs hiding underneath. Being amazed at the divers with all their gear and suit and tanks who would go into the water and clean under the boats. My father was a bright German educated man who always found a way to care for his two boys.
This song brought about these fond memories of my youth.
