Been playing Stage Customs since 96...on my third kit...nothing but compliments from band mates and sound techs on their sound.

Thank you for this tour of Yamaha Drums at NAMM 2025! I fell in love with Yamaha Drums when I was in college in the late 1980s and went on to buy three Yamaha sets over the next 12 years. I'd love to own a Stage Custom Birch set, but I must say, that compact-sized Recording Custom kit on display is my ultimate aspiration. I need and want smaller drums these days, and these are Recording Customs!

I'm a big fan of Yamaha and I swear by the Stage Custom. It's a stellar kit and understated as heck. I'd play mine on any stage. Thank you for the great video, Steve Weiss Music!

Just bought the Stage Custom Birch in Classic White...same color as the big kit that was at NAMM. GORGEOUS looking kit. GREAT sounding kit. And I can NOT say enough about their customer service. My first and forever drum kit.

Thank you for the tour! I've always thought Yamaha's white Stage Customs look so much more expensive than they really are, especially when seen in person.

I love the sound of Yamaha drums, I hate that the finishes are so limited and then there’s the China problem. Don’t get me wrong, my Recording Custom and AHM are great, they’re well made but still…. Make Yamaha Japanese again.

Hi everyone I'm looking advice. I haven't played drums in many years, I am dying to pick up the sticks again. I always was a die hard Ludwig fan...I ooh times have changed...but how would modern day Ludwig kits compare to Yamaha or perhaps Tama...I am going to purchase kit soon. Thanks any advice..much appreciated

Since the separation with Sakae Yamaha's passion has lessened. I did not want to be that voice, but the years have proven it true. If you look back at what was offered in the Beech, Birch, and Maple Custom Absolute, the Tour Custom (not this current one), the Club Custom, the Rock Tour, and Maple Custom Definitive the caparison speaks for itself. Grain finishes are lost when you stand 20 feet away let alone 50 in the back of a crowd (former owner of a Oak and Beech Custom: grain hardly gets more intricate than these). But fine have grain finishes; to each their own. But also offer sparkles, fades, sparkles bursts, rainbow, and the like. People would absolutely pay extra for a premium product. Redesigning white, not continuing to trickle down the nouveau hook lugs to lower lines, eliminating hardware choices (yess mount series, lugs, etc), and more of what I said above all shows less passion. Thank you Steve Weiss Music for the upload and Happy Birthday to those whom it applies. 🥳

Its about time yamaha offered affordable professional range drums. Im Sorry but im not sure what happened! In the 2000s and late 2000s yamaha stage customs and tour customs were considered beginer garbage kits and now they are professional line!? No.

The raydeen were considered childa drums and now they are beginner drums? Somethi g dpesnt add up here. Bring the ymaha absolute maple to 1500$ and boom more customers.

no one drum brand can not do a new kit every year. But... How about color options???

Slow that camera pan, bro. I feel like I’m on the tilt-a-whirl. It’s really hard to watch.
