In this video, we aim to clear up any confusion as Charles shows how to correctly set fork spring preload on motorcycles with open chamber style forks. The bike in this video is a Yamaha Tenere 700 but the process shown will be the same for all dirt bikes and motorcycles using an open chamber design.

Any way to calculate the preload amount adjusted for rider weight? Or is that what Race Tech does for you when they give you the preload spec? Otherwise you could go through this process only to find you have too much or too little dynamic sag.
