The fig tree is certainly poetic. The fig tree is used in the Bible as a symbol for the nation of Israel (the people and 12 tribes of Jacob). The fact that it is growing in a well made by Moses is awesome as it seems like the nation of Israel thrives from what was brought about by Moses and what he did for them.

Man, a fig tree growing in Moses' Well is just about as perfect a symbology as you could ask for.

If you pause when he is leaning on the well, you can vaguely see on one of the rocks, "Moses was here."
