Hi everyone! I hope you enjoy today’s interview with James Salmond, the furniture designer, chef, and owner of Ben Huon Manor. I was amazed by his knowledge of antiques, generous spirit, and design eye that perfectly complements the Manor's architecture.

Love his philosophy of first being visually/aesthetically attractive before considering the practical function of the place. His manor reflects this where I bet every corner is well thought of and visually pleasing. Even the cheeseboard looks great. That shows how much he values his guests. Thank you for sharing, Suzie! Interesting change from your usual format which has always been carefully structured and researched. Thanks!

Such a gentleman, and his wife must be a special woman. Suzie, thank you for sharing! All that I could see was pleasing to the eye. It amazed me as well that he had a deep knowledge of antiques, as well as good design taste .... that fire place looked inviting as well. One of my favorite parts of the interview was the story about James and his father installing the carpet runner on the staircase. In his eyes, I could see that he was filled with joy and appreciation for the labor of love. Again, thanks!
