Quarantine Forge! Super simple DIY forge and anvil

Just another video on stuff to do while stuck at home and losing your mind!
Made a hole in the ground forge and turned a railroad spike into the simplest stake anvil possible.

Got a little help with this one as I've been having a rough time and its hard to make the words happen when I'm not doing so well. Remember folks, its always ok to ask for help if you need it. Or sheepishly accept help that is offered.

So, I tried something similar to this at my house.... And I went and got a hair dryer from Good Will... Well, it died before I got the fire too hot, so I hijacked my brother's miniature Shop Vac, and switched the hose around to blow.
Needless to say, it goes through fuel super fast, but holy cow, it gets HOT. I was only trying to melt a bunch of soda cans, and it melted the cast iron bowl I was using as a crucible, as well as the tip of the steel pipe I had to focus the vac stream without getting the hose too close to the fire and risk damaging it...

All in all, I had a bunch of fun. Also, a lot of dog food cans are made of steel, and can be used as one time use crucibles, though after you're done with the first go, they quickly rust and fall apart.
Keep up the great work with your awesome videos!

I think this was one of my favourite videos from you. Super chill and low budget :) Would LOVE a livestream btw. Ideas for it, I would like to see something small that can be completed in an entire livestream. Hope you are keeping well :)

That narrator is a keeper, no offense to your witty sense of humor and voice 😁
More stuff like this would be great. Love your videos, only one problem though:
Not enough of them! Keep up the great work.

I'm assuming that was a non-galvanized nail? The whole family here looking forward to the possibility of a live stream...well...my wife probably doesn't care, but the kids and I are looking forward to it.

I must know why he was pouring water on the stump.
It's the most important part of the video to me

Unfortunately unable to enjoy this. The video playback was really glitchy. Other videos are playing fine. Shame, I got really excited when I saw that you'd uploaded.
