“Alive” is a drink based on these following concepts. Over a span of 444 years from 1575 to 2019, Genever has been marred by difficulties like the Gin Act, WWI and WWII, and Prohibition era. These times of trial and suffering may have scarred Lucas Bols B.V., but we hope that our new drink may be able to heal those inflicted wounds of the past. Lucas Bols B.V. has endured those scarring difficulties—and we hope that our drink presents a concept of hope so that “in the years to come, the group will be well and alive for many more years to come.”

Since wounded scares can be taken care of by surgeries, our video draws parallels between the act of bartending and surgical process. Hence, we made a diagnosis for the 444 years of difficult times—which has marred Genever over the years—and we made our menu so that it can be our own way of writing a prescription for those hard times.
