I have a question…

Our electricity (utilita) has it’s off-peak times around 23:30 - 8:30.

I wake up around 4-4:30 in the morning, and will need hot water.

Until now, I have just turned on the boiler and boosted the boiler for one hour or so once day, and it has been enough for two of us for a period of 24 hours.

Taking these into consideration, which On- and Off-times should I put on my boiler, to save the most money, but also have at least warm water throughout the whole day?

Using this video as a guide, I have set my program on the boiler to 2:00am to 6:00am. Is this unnecessery? I only need it to boil the water for me to be ready by 4:00am, so what should I do, so that I dont have to keep boosting and boosting all the time myself?

Is it enough if I set the On- and Off-time to 2:00am - 4:00am ???

Mine is showing timed boost. If I press the set button 3 times it shows 7am - What does this mean? . Also, it's 11:40am now and none of the programs should be running, but the upper element is hot to the touch...

My economy period heats the water perfectly but the boost program [set for the afternoon] does nothing, even though the boost button is lit. Any ideas as I’m fed up of boiling kettles for my sons evening bath. Even manual boost doesn’t heat the water at all.

What does Off peak time mean? Does it mean the duration for which the heater is not heating the water or its the other way round?

It seems to me that the water heater will be ON AND HEATING every time the light is blue. So if you have three time slots (as I do) that are off-peak and that is what you have programmed into the timer and the toggle switch is in the TIMED position, then the water heater will come on and heat the tank of water and keep it hot throughout all three timed off-peak periods.
If you just want it to come on once a day, you should set you timer to a single off-peak mode (such as setting 0 on the internal dial) and then manually adjust it to the duration you want it to come on.
The manual is atrocious at explaining this and this video isn't much use either.

Can you simply explain how I can have hot water on permanently?

Is that correct if I set "off-peak" on at 1am, the boiler will be heat up at 1am and I set "off-peak" off at 5am, the boiler will stop heat the water at 5am till the next 1am?

When my economy light is illuminated does this mean my boiler is on? I’ve set my off peak times manually and economy light seems to come on during times I’ve not set. How do I stop this from happening? Seems unnecessarily confusing. I don’t understand the tariffs or how to change them or access them seems this may be the issue? Please can you help

This video is just as confusing as the manual. I just want hot water to be running anytime I turn the hot tap on (which could be anytime throughout the day) can you please provide a clear explanation here how I set it up that way?

Sorry
But does turning the OFF peak on mean you are turning off the boiler?

So if I want the boiler to come on at 6am and off at 8am.
I set the off peak off at 6am and set the off peak on at 8am?

It's so hard to use a human to explain rather than a fake voice?

This is such a stupid device. Every time us customers get a power cut (which is frequent now we are a NK economy) this daft thing resets. It has NO internal memory. So the Clock is wrong, the date is wrong, economy boost settings are all mucked up, & so you end up paying near £5 a DAY like I have to EDF until you track the culprit down. If you have this pre-historic piece of junk in your abode, check the damn thing every single day. Because it will get you in financial trouble, just to have hot water once a day. It's a nightmare. I am going to look into getting it replaced with something more modern, & throw this in the bin!
