Scale Trains Trinity 82' Reefer Major Problem

Just received mine today and they all have the same issue as yours. I lubed the axles and electrical pickups, but that did not make a noticeable performance difference. I agree with a statement you made - this is the worst performing rolling stock in my fleet as well. Additionally, my cars have a very noticeable rattle when the volume is on any level other than low. The volume doesn't have memory, so you need to adjust it every time you power it up if you prefer any level other than default. Visually, a beautiful model. But functionally, Scaletrains missed on this one. I'll be returning my units.

It’s wipers and moving roller bearings that cause friction, just apply a little oil and it’ll be fine

I know you will not want to hear this, but you might could loosen the wippers(pushing them away a little bit.) OR add some track wippers in one place to pick up power? That's the first thing that comes to mind. I had built my caboose lighting and made my own wheel pickups. I had to adjust them until I got the right.

Purchased 8 and noticed the same thing, using a magnifying glass the axle bearing surface has small amounts of glue on them

Would replacing the Scale Trains factory installed trucks with free rolling trucks do the trick? I would like ST to release these refrigerator cars undecorated..
I got a paint scheme in mind I want to use on these cars...

This is so poor, a guy from our club got his today and they are all non free rolling. Scaletrains have a big QC issue with these. Best advice is to stay well clear of these

Hmmm. I’m glad I only ordered 2 to supplement my atlas Tropicana fleet. Definitely beautiful cars tho. Should get mine today

I hope the upcoming N scale Trinity 82’ Reefers don’t have this issue. Luckily I do have an N scale train set with wider curves.

Probably going to need the long shank couplers, to make it go around curves. Without the cars falling off the track.

I had the same issue with the cars not rolling freely on the ST auto racks.
