I'd bet that given the Q4 22 guidance issued today, Cocks and Williams were told to stop trying to sink the only part of the Hasbro ship that was keeping the whole thing afloat. They'll be back.

Keeping 1.0a/Ditching 1.2 was the ONLY right move. But the bridges are burned. I will be going out of my way to never give another dime to WOTC.
DC20 Is still what I'm excited about. And I do very much you keep the 'code name'. It has a nice ring to it.

I'd consider it a battle won, but the war is still ongoing. They haven't specifically stated that OGL 1.0a is safe, that they won't try to revoke it at some point in the future. The document has not been amended to state it's completely irrevocable and untouchable, and until that happens, by WotC's own logic, it's still vulnerable. This seems more like they're kicking the can down the road, giving the community time to forget, then plan to come back to it at a later date once the hate dies down.

Celebrate, but remain vigilant, and continue to NOT give your money to corporations that hate you. They have proven they can't be trusted. Plenty of other fish in the sea.

Well done! This couldn’t have happened without our wonderful creators, our dedicated and vocal community, and certainly someone inside WotC/Hasbro siding with the fans.
Goodwill has a ways to go but this was a solid step.

What WotC did is open up the market to a greater level of competition which makes for a better space for all of us; creators and players alike. While this is great news for us, the best part is seeing how many people are just like you, striving forward to bring more games to the community. The best thing that came out of this OGL mess was the final push for creators to do their own thing.

I have left dnd beyond and am never going back. I'm happy for you and for this decision. I know its a long ball, but I still hope to see pathfinder or system agnostic stuff, as well as of course your future game system. Good news all around. Happy for you DC.

I still won't ever buy another DnD product again. I'm happy for others who feel they don't have to move away, but I'm gone. I may forgive but I don't forget.

Also for looking at other systems, good on you! I recommend Pathfinder 2e's character creation system for using, specifically the attribute points.
