One has got to be out of their mind to buy a new car of any sort!
I have a 1998 Lincoln Towncar. 120K on it. Beautiful! Smooth. Reliable. We bought it for 5400. in 2008.
We drive it 50 miles a month! Ha! Ha! We drive a 2008 Chevy Aveo around town. 32 MPG. Yippeee! We also have a 2000 Ford F250 4WD, V-10 gas, quad cab, 8 foot bed! A Tank! 10 mpg. I put 3 miles a day on it to work. All paid for! Yikes!

I bought a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse premier in 2021. They were jacking up the price like crazy with interest rates etc. I made the guy run back and forth to the finance dept to get me a better rate to no avail. Anyway since they were not working with me I decided to show them a thing or two. Guess what I did? I paid cash for the car and basically told their finance dept to stick it where the sun don't shine.

184, 000 mi is nothing for a Toyota vehicle these days. As long as you've been on top of oil changes and preventive maintenance there should be no problems. Make sure you also change your transmission fluid every 30, 000 miles regardless of whatever Toyota says. You should be able to get an extra 200, 000 miles out of that vehicle if it's properly maintained and driven correctly. Just remember this the more clean the fluid is running through that transmission and engine the longer that transmission and engine is going to last. That's why it's always good to change your oil sooner than later regardless of whatever the oil manufacturer says. The cleaner the fluid that runs through the transmission and engine the longer those two units are going to last. At 184000 mi it's time to replace your timing belt or timing chain. It should be done at 100, 000 mi so you should do it now. Timing belts can break and timing chains do stretch. It may seem Overkill to you and a lot of the times the dealers will not be honest with you. They want you to push the limits and tell you false information so the car will wear out and you'll buy a new one. That's how these places make money in the service and sales department.
