Painting tips!!
1. Use a drywall taping knife to paint baseboard or around trim! You can easily push it used the basement prevent paint from getting on the carpet. Or a small part of wall very close to trim? Put the taping knife against the trim and use it as a block.
2. Always tape your roller before use! Rollers come with fluff! Taking tape to it prior to rolling paint on your walls, helps to remove all the extra fluffs so they don’t end up in your paint!
3. Offload your paint before cutting in! Sometimes, you just want cutting in the edges quickly and that sometimes results in sloppy results or too much paint! Once you get paint off your brush, offload slightly below where you want to cut, then cut. If you need more paint to cut in, grab from that offloaded spot. But don’t forget to smooth it out before moving onto the next section or it will dry and flash!
4. Use @brushbaggycanada to store your brushes between coats! They really do work and well!
5. Use @frogtape when taping. Did you know that if you take a damp cloth and run it along Frogtape, it will activate the sealing properties of the tape, preventing bleeding. If you have textured walls, use the old colour of the wall on the tap line followed by the new colour. Do not allow paint to dry with tape on the wall. If paint does dry, make sure to use a utility knife to separate the tape from the paint or your paint can peel with the tape.
