Hi,

I am Dr. Dweipayan Goswami,

Welcome to my YouTube channel "Learn at ease"

**A Step-by-Step Guide to Upload Bacterial 16S rRNA Gene Sequence to GenBank**

Bacteria are the most diverse and abundant life forms on Earth, but identifying and classifying them can be challenging. Traditional microbiological methods are often slow, inaccurate, and limited by culturing conditions. Fortunately, there is a better way: using DNA sequencing to analyze the 16S rRNA gene.

The 16S rRNA gene is a part of the bacterial ribosome that plays a crucial role in protein synthesis. It is also a molecular fossil that has been conserved since evolution, making it ideal for phylogenetic analysis. The 16S rRNA gene contains both conserved and variable regions that can be used to distinguish between different bacterial species and strains.

In this video, you will learn how to upload your bacterial 16S rRNA gene sequence to GenBank, the largest public database of nucleotide sequences. GenBank is a valuable resource for researchers and students who want to share and access genetic information from all kinds of organisms.

You will learn how to:

- Prepare your 16S rRNA gene sequence for submission
- Register and log in to the GenBank Submission Portal
- Fill in the required metadata and annotation fields
- Validate and submit your sequence
- Retrieve your accession number and link to your record

By uploading your 16S rRNA gene sequence to GenBank, you will contribute to the advancement of microbial genetics and ecology. You will also be able to compare your sequence with other sequences in the database and discover new insights into the diversity and evolution of bacteria.

So what are you waiting for? Watch this video and start uploading your 16S rRNA gene sequence to GenBank today!

Thank you for the nice video, i have a question, after completing all 7 steps, i ahave got a message from gene bank : queued
How much time will be required fir its submission. I saw in the video, it gets submitted immediately, then why it is taking time in my case. Please guide me
