💉SYRINGE EXPERIEMENT💉

Experiment 1

🧪Step 1 - Fill one bottle with liquid
🧪Step 2 - Attach the syringe to the tube
🧪Step 3 - Push the plunger all the way down to the bottom to remove air
🧪Step 4 - Place the end of the tube into the bottle
🧪Step 5 - Slowly pull the plunge upward and out of the syringe
🧪Step 6 - Keep the syringe facing downward into an empty glass
🧪Step 7 - The fluid will transfer from the bottle to the glass

⚗️The science
When the piston is pushed downward it forces air out of the syringe. As there is no air left the force of the suction it draws the liquid through the tube over the bottle into the syringe. This force of gravity then allows the liquid to flow continuously even once the plunger is removed.

💉How liquids stay inside a syringe*
When the piston is pulled up, air pressure inside the syringe reduces as compared to atmospheric pressure because of an increase in volume. The pressure outside syringe is greater so it forces liquid into the syringe. When a syringe has been filled, the liquid can't exit it without decreasing the internal pressure, (for example depressing the piston) therefore the push of atmospheric pressure will keep the contents in it.
