Why show spitfire if you’re discussing the Hawker Hurricane?

The hurricane was used mostly to attack bombers which were more vunrable. The spitfires were dealing with the fighters which were far more difficult to shoot down. Also when a spitfire returned with major damaged it would be weeks before it was repaired often at the factory. Where the Hurricane was a much easier fix at the air field it landed at so less down time.

The battle plan was for spitfires to engage the fighter escorts, the hurricanes were to attack the bombers. Apples and oranges.

People also forget there were a plenty more Hurricanes during the BoB too.. 19 squadrons vs 32 Hurricane ones. Yes Hurricanes downed 60% of the enemy, but Spitfires had a better ratio, and had to tackle more fighters. People never seem to pickup on that.
