This discussion seems somewhat out of place. Germany doesn’t need to speak to anyone except Russia, when it concerns Nordstream 2. No deal with the USA is required. Lastly, the construction of the pipeline will be completed soon, with operations to start soon after. Why is this even being discussed??

gas for over 30 years and has never weaponized its gas and oil cooperation with Europe.

Will the US and Germany reach a deal on Nord Stream 2? - The US wants the EU to buy their expensive & environentally unfriendly fracked LNG. If Germany goes ahead with NS 2 then the US will demand some sort of 'compensation.' Tactics & ethics that more closely resemble the business model of Tony Soprano than that of a friendly partner.

Germany has nothing to discuss with the US on this project. They don't need permission from any country to decide on the national interest plans. Germany should expel the US ambassador and military if sanctions are imposed. In any case the project is almost complete

The hubris to think the states (DC) could decide what European countries areallowed to do for their own benefit. So much for free trade, every country is free as long as they buy from the states. BTW this pipeline is under construction on German request.

What is the point of Russia supplying gas to Europe if gas in Asia is 80% more expensive because even a US ally supplies LNG to Asia.
