Two more very interesting points among many:
1. At (1:06:07) the moderator Kulko tries to wrap it up, but Pres. Putin asks that the questions of the rep from BBC be heard noting, "They promised to attack ... it is their job." BBC correspondent Steven Rosenberg asks in fluid Russian, "25 years ago Yeltsin transferred power to you and said, Take care of Russia." He lists a litany of complaints then asks, "Have you?" Pres. Putin replies with great skill in the affirmative, including pointing out that Yeltsin was a darling of the West while he did their bidding, and but when Yeltsin complained that Belgrade being bombed was against the UN Charter, the BBC & West immediately called him a drunk. Priceless.
2. At (1:12:23) Russian TV's Alexandra Suvorova offers, "A question from St. Petersburg: Why do you various foreigners insult you, yet you remain silent?" With the sort of class that should embarrass America's Russia haters if they had any sense of shame Pres. Putin responds, "It comes down to one's level of culture ... He who calls names is called that himself ... such behavior is born out of impotence." Ouch!

Great program out of Russia, and in particular for me the point at (33:16) where NBC News talking head Kier Simmons asks questions under the guise, "When you face Pres Trump, you will be the weaker leader, how do you propose to compromise?" What follows is a tour de force demonstration of the difference in candor between a paid lackey and a geopolitical giant, including ending with Pres. Putin referencing, as to his perceived weakness, a popular remark attributed to Mark Twain - "News of my demise has been great exaggerated" to the amusement of the audience. Timeless timeless timeless.

Firstly Happy New year Michael to you and yours, so many thanks for this, superb, and all your incredible work in 2024. I was watching World Leaders speeches addressing their Sovereign Countries before the turn of this next year, ...sadly our Leader was skiing. Finally got the chance to sit and watch.

I stand where I stand on politics. everything aside, the russian people are blessed to have a politician that can speak for himself without a team of script writers or a teleprompter. i mean nothing more than to complement his skills in the spoken word.

I didn't think about it in some clips I've already seen of this, but man: Putin looks old here, even kind of frail.
