Donald Trump demands public apology from ‘radical left’ bishop

US President Donald Trump says the "so-called" Bishop of Washington National Cathedral owes the public an apology.

Episcopal Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde asked the president to protect immigrants and respect the rights of gay and transgender people during a prayer service.

The president responded to the Bishop's remarks in a late-night Truth Social post.

"The so-called Bishop...was a Radical Left hard line Trump Hater. She brought her church into the World of politics in a very ungracious way," Mr Trump wrote.

"She is not very good at her job! She and her church owe the public an apology!"
