Using A Glass Burnisher On Leather

preview_player
Показать описание
Used for years by many avid leathercrafters. Simply case your leather normally and then drag the glass across the grain side of the leather. This action will compress the leather grain, thus providing for better cuts and for better uniform coverage of dyes and finishes. Also used by bookbinders to help form and crease their leather.

I have a question... I watch this video and George Hurst says to to this to make your tooling better and to make your leather look smoother. Well if you watch any of his other videos he never does this... Can anyone help with suggestions on when to do this and when it is not needed.???

I thought these things were primarily for smoothing the fuzzy side (the rough out side), not the grain side.

What type of stamp was used on the second half, that looks like hearts? Does anyone make a heart stamp for weaving or meandering?
