My desktop has a GTX 1060 and my laptop has a 3050 Ti and since I haven't bothered testing that much between them I enjoyed this comparison :)

GTX 1060 is still such a great card, you turn down a couple of the settings and you can easily get over 60 fps

I recently purchased an ASUS F15 featuring a GTX1650 graphics card. However, after a month of usage, I encountered a ghosting issue that necessitated returning the device. I am extremely pleased with this new laptop, as it represents a significant improvement over my initial purchase.

If you can its better to spend a bit more for a 115-130w 3060 laptop. The bang for buck choice in laptops at the moment and not too far behind the desktop 3060 in performance.

I'm so glad to see that the lowest performing (laptop only, at the moment) RTX 30 series graphics card is noticeably better in games than the desktop GTX 1060 6GB, while also drawing significantly less power. I can already imagine how much better the upcoming desktop RTX 3050 will be compared to the GTX 1060 6GB!

The RTX 30 series were truly one of Nvidia's best generations, comparable only to the mere GTX 10 series, and it would have easily been the best-selling generation in just a short period of time if only the global pandemic-caused chip shortage hadn't happened...

The big changer for me here is the low power consumption of RTX 3050 over the 1060.
It's no brainer that you have to choose 3050.
