I've been a football fan since 1990 and ever since then, I'm still waiting for a player better than Zidane. Only a selected few can be mentioned in the same contest, due to their immense talent, accomplishments and skills, but even in the context of that legendary elite-of-the-elite, Zizou somehow still manages to stick out. His ball control was unreal; his power and strength were often underrated, but clearly visible when best defenders bounced off him like they were made of straw; his vision, passing ability and sense for timing and placement were superhuman; he was comfortable scoring in any way imaginable - left foot, right foot, headers, volleys, from impossible positions, you name it, he gets the job done; his leadership was key for success of each and every team he played for - his best performances always came in most important, biggest matches. But above all, he was the epitome of elegance - the only other player that played so effortlessly was the great Dutch maestro Dennis Bergkamp.
For me, Zidane is easily top 5 players of all time and by far the best midfielder that ever played the game.
