Susanna de Chenonceau, M. Ed. (formerly Susanna R. Cerasuolo, M. Ed.) gives tips about why your GPA is important in 9th and 10th grade:

-You only have 3 years to develop a strong GPA for applying to college
-You have to set a strong GPA foundation in 9th and 10th grade, because it is harder to significantly alter your GPA by junior year (law of averages)
-Get the most A's possible - register for classes strategically to make sure you do well freshman year

I have been fine all my life with grades and school performance up until 8th grade. Then it was my first year of high-school, in a horrible online school format. It was so hard for me in this format, I was getting stressed, lost the grip, my grades dropped. My dream of becoming a pro soccer player, im starting to lose motivation, im not training enough! Now im thinking what will colleges think? Will they care? They probally will, now I have to wait until on campus school resumes, so I can regain confidence, and that doesn't sound like any time soon at this point Will really appreciate a response, how much will universities view performances during the pandemic? Including GPA.

Who wished they watched this earlier?

If I watched this shit earlier I wouldn't have a 3.2 at the end of freshman year 😢

What about this stressful format, online learning. Its really hard for me, will my grades during these times really be viewed to Universities during these times? truly unfair if it is

through freshman year i did pretty solid, getting pretty much all As and about a 3.8 gpa. as im wrapping up sophomore year my overall gpa has dropped to about a 3.2. Assuming I do well junior year, will I have a shot at semi-competitive schools (from a gpa standpoint)

hey i dont know if you are still replying but i have a pretty good question. in my freshman and sophomore year i had a lot of things going on and was also just quite lazy and never did my work. i ended up going from 2 years advanced in math down to regular math. i ended off sophomore year with a total 2.5gpa. however, i am currently in my junior and my grades in the first semester of this year were roughly a 3 gpa and at the end of this semester i should end off with anywhere from a 3.75 to a 3.9 and in the the last quarter of the year i should have around a 4.12. I have a lot of APs im taking senior year, and my act without studying was a 28 and i know i can get it up if i study for a few weeks before i take it again. how will this shape up? i know i wont be getting into any selective colleges but i would like what i could do to strengthen my application besides improving gpa as i do not think that will be effective at a large enough scale to make a difference with me going into my senior year. thanks in advance!

If you end sophomore year with a 2.8 gpa and not that good grades will you need to get a good junior year to be viable to colleges in general, or will you just be unviable
