Paul Manos, a professor of biology at Duke University, has been studying oak trees for most of his career. In a new study with an international team, Manos is working towards understanding oak tree hybridization and its impact on the organisms that depend on them. The exchange of genes that occurs during hybridization could be an adaptive response to climate change.
