Note for Clarity: RTX 4060 features AD107 silicon, 4060 Ti features AD106. Compared to last gen, RTX 3060 was based on GA106, while 3060 Ti was based on GA104.

My default stance on new games has been 'wait for patches and a 50% discount' for quite some time now.

I agree with John. It's embarrassing the way Jedi Survivor released. I want to play it, but don't want to play it with all these problems. It's at the point where you can't play a new game within the first couple months of release. Just wait 2 months for a bunch of patches and it should be on sale by then.

People need to stop pre ordering games. You pay full price to get the worst version of the product, you might as well just pick it up in a sale a few months later.

Game development cost has risen significantly but the pure income has increased ten fold, so that being the argument for games costing 70€ is just ridiculous.

Problem with bad releases, that disk versions after 10 years will be unusable if update service will be dead.

I have my years old 2080Ti rig, using both 1080p/2160p game to game, .. id like to "double up" GPU wise because I do really enjoy the feature set, but all this broken game software has stopped me right in my tracks, and I figure give it another 12 months or something that far ahead...maybe longer still.

For the CPU testing, I think you should do "does it bottleneck" videos. Just explore the typical gaming space with different gpus and find which cpus bottleneck at which point and how that impacts the user.

I swear on console Jedi Survivor actually has higher input latency on the newest patch, in both modes. Would be curious if you guys might want to test that.
They really need to enable V-Sync in performance mode, too. Tearing is unacceptable. It's SO distracting.

Day one co-op in "State Of Decay 2" with a group was extremely upsetting, and their was never any recovery from that experience. I tried co-op in that game 3yrs later with strangers via matchmaking, and the lag is still unbearable. My wired connection and healthy internet speeds can only do so much.

Jedi Survivor literally did a jedi mind trick on me. I believed with the delay, the game would be performing well so I pre-ordered (which I don't do anymore). It's a shame because if this game released in perfect state it would 100% be contender for game of the year. Unfortunately now it won't even make the nomination.

When a DirectStorage/fast SSD becomes a min spec requirement on PC it will help to level the storage/memory efficiency playing field. For example, if they ported Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart to PC, they would have to enforce a fast NVME SSD requirement, and PC developers are still reluctant to do that for now. You could say: Why not enforce a 16GB VRAM or 32GB system RAM requirement, and just load the game's 'hot swap' ultra-fast SSD/IO parts into that large RAM pool ahead of time, so it's already available?
Okay, sure. No need to have blazing storage IO/caching VRAM flush and fill if the data is already preloaded to memory.

But then you're back to needing a fast SSD just to complete that very large RAM pre-load beforehand in a reasonable time!

Eventually PC gaming will be in a fully adopted DirectStorage scenario min spec, and memory will receive far more efficient streaming to manage resources in PC gaming.

The metrics don't let us see VRR numbers sadly, but I assume it would be similar.

I have the 3070 and I'm holding out on the 40 series. Just too scattered on pricing and specs. I'm hoping some common sense shows back up in the 50 series but not holding my breath. A 5070 with 16GB VRAM is what would be encouraging. The 4070 with 12GB of VRAM is just not future proofed enough.
