This MR2 has been built to around 500 horsepower, with no shortcuts taken. Like the owner says, your build will only be as good/strong as your cheapest/weakest part!!

I had a 91 n/a MR2 t-top, and also played the hood/trunk/engine bay trick on countless people. Mine was white, I added white "it's a mid-engine thing..." lettering on the top of the rear window. 🤣

I had a 150k Miler T-top that never leaked and was totally sound inside.
It was a rev3 NA GT with the t-top and full leather interior. It had the extra speakers and subs behind the seats that I never used because the engine note was better than any music.
That car was an addiction for me. I used to drive it as a way to spend an hour around the back roads of my house out in the sticks.
Such a fun car to drive.
I drove it to about 150, 000 miles and then the sills became an unsolvable problem.
I sold it to a neighbour who had also owned an MR2 and was appreciative of the condition of mine for the parts market I guess.
Amazing car and I often toy with replacing my Z4 2.5si with an engined swapped sw20 with 3.5 l V6 and maybe a supercharger...

long live the mr2! most fun i've had on 4 wheels is my v6 swapped mr2... 3 more in the works now with different engines. a 3s stocker, a 1ar n/a (for now) and another v6.... because why not
just wish we didnt have winters up here in chicago-land... potholes... potholes hate these cars

I drove a 450whp MR2 and the rev/boost was way too aggressive and quick per gear for the streets. Not a smooth experience, but was major heart pounding adrenaline experience.

Ive had several of these and gen 1s. Fantastic cars ❤❤❤ i did a twin turbo upgrade on on my last gen 2. I used a borla exhaust. Fun times. Enjoy your beautiful ride ❤

Ken's got a nice car there for sure. I hope when Toyota brings this back they do it justice, turbo, no hybrid, T-Tops, and find some crazy way to do pop up headlights (pop-up foglights to avoid stupid restrictions?). More MR2 less fugly failure MR-S.
