the only cafe in my town that does it correctly gets complaints about their takeaway cups being “too small” 😭

Barista here ✌️ most customers complain if you give them a half empty cup and actually ask for more water. There are only a few that don't want their coffee watered like that 😅

I'm pretty sure in 90% of caffees you can ask them to put less water in your take-away though

8oz takeaway cup at most for Long Blacks (with a double riz). Anything more then go to Starbucks

First of all, if you add water into espresso in my town and call it a long black, they'll say you're not worthy of being a barista due to certain Aussie tradition

If you order a t/a long black, they ask if you want regular or large. The water should be based on the number of shots

its only because the coffee in paper cup seems smaller than the ceramic cup. Have you not worked in a coffee shop, ever?

I dont get the concept of a long black tbh. Why would I want the taste of my espresso to be watered down?
I would just get an espresso or if you wanna mix it, doing that with milk is the far better option

Or if they ask you what size do you want your long black or flat white lol if they have to ask for a size you better expect some mediocre coffee

Whats even more maddening is when you consider the mark up on coffee and tea. So they could absolutely fill it and the profit loss would be nominal.

Coffee for takeaway sucks. Paper cup spoils the taste. Same as drinking wine on go. If you don’t have time to enjoy it in cafe better not drink at all
