The weirdest door interaction in Ultrakill

I do not know if it is just me, but I find it as very obscure

It’s in a bunch of places, mostly to stop you trying to smuggle out skulls or to keep you from softlockibg yourself.

how to smuggle:

stand next to the closed door,
whiplash

whiplash again and dash really fast

you have smuggled a skuller

If it were possible, you would get stuck and not be able to complete the level. That's the reason.

Same reason for why you can get the torch in P-1, since it doesn't get you stuck and you can complete the level.

for some reason, P-1 doesn't do this, allowing you to fight minos prime with a torch.

Fun fact i discovered on 1-3: if you make a streetcleaner dodge your attack during which he goes through a door frame, then you go to him, he ceases to exist in the said room until you go back

If you tried to smuggle a skull here, then your whiplash would probably break or be stuck at the other side of the door.

That's my headcanon, apparently.

theres only one place where you can do it without softlocking
6-1 required for the secret encounter

Ive done that in layer...5 i think, and then went "Oh, you think you can stop me?!" as I grabbed the skull/key (i cant remember if it was something else but i think it was skull) and then went back out before the doors close

...And It didnt even softlock me, i just needed some EPIC MOVEMENT
