PM says UK 'stands with Israel' in wake of Iran's attack and warns Middle East is 'on the brink'

Sir Keir Starmer has condemned Iran's missile attack on Israel, accusing the Iranian regime of harming "innocent Israelis" and pushing the region "ever closer to the brink".

Speaking from Downing Street, the prime minister said: "We stand with Israel and we recognise her right to self-defence in the face of this aggression. Iran must stop these attacks - together with its proxies, like Hezbollah."

Sir Keir later avoided answering a question from the press on whether the UK would use its military capabilities to help Israel defend itself.

I'm comfused, one news channel is showing Isreal has killed over 41000 civilians in Gaza and nearly 2000 civilians in Lebanon. Maybe if we were better mediators, it wouldn't come to this. I feel there is way too much double standards. Isreal can kill innocent people, yet Iran is not allowed to respond to any provocative response from Isreal? Did Isreal not offend Irans sovereignty when they directly attacked Iran and killed Iranians? If Isreal has the right to defend itself, so does Iran. I stand strong with humanity, I feel this is what everyone needs right now, humanity.
