mononoke and howl's moving castle are more popular, but nausicaa was always the one that punched you right in the gut with emotion, and the music for it is no exception. don't get me wrong, i like merry-go-round of life is amazing, but these songs are more emotion inducing in my opinion. i'm glad joe gets some of the recognition he deserves. the movies wouldn't be the same without his contributions

@5:35 first time I heard this on my journey of watching all Ghibli films, I knew what I signed up for was worth it. Music alone brought tears to my eyes on most films. I cannot believe I went 28 years without watching these films other than spirited away. And the rewatch of that was more than worth the experience as well. Genuinely unbelievable how 1 studio is responsible for releasing so many incredible films

Try listening to this while driving. Match the music with the scenery. The best is when you match the beginning crescendo while reaching the crest of a hill and then your exposed to an entire landscape below you. Truly moving. I tear up everytime.

I am glad that I lived in a time when we had Hisaishi and Sakamoto making incredible music. Now, Sakamoto is gone, but we still have Hisaishi. Thank you, Maestro.
