The speed landing challenge for P3D/FSX/X-Plane. How fast can you take off and land at 5 airstrips?

A flight sim challenge for you guys to have a go at.

The challenge can be flown in FSX/P3D or X-Plane 10.

A while back, MrCobolman set a challenge for flying an FSX helicopter mission as fast as you can. Quite a few people, including Froogle, took up the challenge and it was great fun to fly.

I decided to create another challenge, slightly more difficult this time, involving a time trial with landings into small airfields / airstrips in the East Frisian Islands of Germany.

I've set the benchmark time - can you beat it? Current leaderboard and video links at the bottom of the description.

If you record and upload your attempts to YouTube, I'll add a link to your video into my description.

The rules are:

FSX/P3D/X-Plane speed trial rules.

Aircraft must be single engine piston
Must be flown below 1500 feet
All take offs must be in the opposite direction to the landing. So must complete a 180 degree turn on the ground, after landing and before taking off.
Landing off the runway or hitting objects is a disqualification.
Damage and stress to the aircraft must be turned on.
Weather must have a wind of 280 at 10 knots (helps shorten landing distances.

The route...............

Clock starts when brakes are released

Takeoff from EDWR Borkum on runway 30 (the grass runway, not 31 which is the tarmac)

Land at EDWJ Juist on runway 26, come to a full stop for 3 seconds, then take off on 08

Land at EDWY Norderney on runway 27, come to a full stop for 3 seconds then take off on runway 09

Land at EDWZ Baltrum on runway 28, come to a full stop for 3 seconds then take off runway 10

Land at EDWL Langeoog on runway 28 and clock stops when you come to a full stop.

Great idea of yours this Rich. That LancAir Legacy seems to be the weapon of choice for this challenge. Very nice skills indeed, don't think I'd stand a chance in hell.

Thanks for this challenge.
Yes, I would like to see a video on Plan G oriented to X-Plane.
Keep 'em comin',

Speed challenge, Caribbean Edition. Start and end on the Runway at SABA. Routing SABA(Dept RWY12) - TFFJ(Arr & Dept RWY10) - TNCM(Arr & Dept RWY10) - SABA(Arr RWY12). Winds 110/10. Max altitude 5000ft. Single engine piston only. I find this challenge to be longer and it makes great use of the FlyTampa scenery for St Maarten. Good luck and have fun!

Wow, that was SOME fancy flying. I don't have a hope in Hades of matching that but I'll give it a go as soon as I get a moment :)

I plan on getting P3D at the end of this month, the first craft I'm gonna get is definitely this one.

You can bet I'll immediately try to beat your time. Only problem is I'm not used to dealing with airspeed/G limits, so this could be interesting.

I will take a look at this in something a bit more sophisticated: An F4U Corsair or a Goodyear F2G2 "Super" Corsair. IF I can fly any of those in X-Plane 10.42 without a joystick, as that is a bit broken at this point :(

Rich, was wondering if you are planning to review the new DTG Flight School when it is released.

What a great idea loved the video, and like some of the other comments here I don't stand a chance of matching your times. I wonder if the default scenery runways are longer than the add on scenery you used? I might be tempted with the scenery though just to keep things don't know if you have some easy way to make a video of the flight without using Fraps as I don't have that. I would be interested in any help with the recording side of things, I'm using FSX. Thanks for a great video. I saw a video from Marshall Arbitman, who took up your challenge a tried it in the A2A P47, wow he had his work cut out with that beast.

@flightsim481 So the IXEG is out. I'm *really* hoping you will do a review on it since you truly dig into the plane. If you don't have it yet, it's frigging amazing :)
