LEGO Vs LEPIN: Price? Quality? Weight? Can Kids tell the Difference? An In-depth Comparison

Hey LEGO Maniacs! Today like the description says we'll be comparing Lego and Lepin in-depth so grab something to drink and maybe some popcorn cause this is about to get real ;)

We'll be using both the brand new x wing 75218 and Jedi Starfighter 75214 as our test subjects as well as getting Pajama boys opinion of which is real... and which is not.

Lepin is great for EOL sets or MOC sets. Especially if the set has 10, 000+ pieces like the Sand Crawler MOC or the Star Destroyer MOC

Basically a 0.01lb difference per pound. Essentially they’re 99% of the weight of a LEGO set. Not bad

I always found that Lepin is great for those EOL sets, that can cost in the thousands. When you want a set just for display, and dont want to pay way too much for it, I find that's the best time to buy Lepin. Buying EOL sets means that LEGO doesn't lose any money, and I can have sets like 10030 Star Destroyer without spending $3, 000.

I buy both. I think Lepin is great for sets that arent out anymore. If a set is available I'll buy the Lego version. It makes no sense to pay a Lego "investor" $1200 for a modular when Lego isnt making a profit anyways. It's Lego's fault, if they had those sets in stock Lepin wouldn't have been as big as they had become.
Edit: As far as resale goes, if you put your set up for sale on Lepin reddit you can make about 80% of your money back. So while it will not appreciate like Lego, you do have an avenue to get rid of the set if you just want the build experience.

I was forced to get lepin, cause i couldnt find some really old creator expert sets. I am a full lego buyer but sadly..i had to go lepin..for some really old sets.

Nice to see you guys comparing these. I have Nexo Knights Fortrex and Jestro's Volcanic Lair. But after purchasing them recently. I see the same sets for way cheaper as kos, in which I could have bought 2 liars, and maybe 3 fortrexs. I feel like your buddy there, I'm not planning to sell, just to build. Great video.

If you want to tell if a set is fake quick check the studs the the lego logo if it’s not there it’s fake

if Lepin is copying Lego products that look identical and is a copyright issues. 
why are stores selling them or are they just sold online. I though customs would be on this?

At the end of the day, when you purchase lepin, you're supporting a company that doesn't pay the designers nor the franchise fees

I have a lego with different brands like kreo, lepin etc and idc if its fake because they look the same

You can definitely tell the difference in quality up close. Lepin is generally pretty good but Lego is always perfect. Once you start stacking lepin bricks together you'll notice where sometimes they don't quite line up properly, or there are little rough burrs on some edges, etc

I always no which one is the fake because real lego has the lego logo printed on every single stud
