The front piece of the car being cast like that is a really good example of modern design and engineering in terms of creating super strong parts that are also light, but DAMN that's gonna be impossible to fix. You have a 20-30 km/h crash, and you write the car off or replace literally 1/3 of the body structure.

maybe just the required commute distance in Europe is on average way less than the states so they can make a car with similar functionality cheaper. i would imagine new 4860 batteries with better cooling and charging and efficiency would be better for the supper high cycles of a taxi especially when tesla will be paying for the electricity.

I think Ben is wrong. Here in Europe, if they won't give us range they won't sell cars... Simple as that. We don't have the supercharging network that is available in the US.

This is not the robotaxi nor a car to use mostly as an Uber. This is the same old Model Y. The batterie will be different but the car features will be similar or better than the current Model Y coming out of Fremont.

The robotaxi with smaller range will come in a few years and is not the Model Y.
