2014 Acura TL Review, Walkaround, Exhaust, & Test Drive

As the last model year for the TL nameplate, Acura carries over its once best-selling luxury sedan with minimal changes. Still offering a strong blend of sportiness, spaciousness, and performance, the 2014 Acura TL only begins to feel old when you get inside and notice a lack of modern technology and driver assistance. If that doesn't bother you, the TL may be exactly what you're looking for, especially those of you looking for a good deal. Other buyers may want to wait for the upcoming 2015 TLX.

In 2023, I still love my 2014 TL w/155K on it. This car has aged pretty well, and the 2023 TLX doesn't even bring in as much HP's as this generation. I have had minimal issues, and all have been maintenance based (Oil Changes, Timing Belt replacement, Brakes, + 1 battery) . I think this car is a great used car pickup for those who are looking.

I have a base 2012 TL and that thing is such a great car.Dead reliable and no fancy useless stuff to break.Just love the car, Ive owned it for 4 years and so far its been a rock solid car with 0 problems.

The steering in the TL is way better than all the newer Acura products I've tried. It's like Acura went backwards.

I blame the 2008 recession to the huge drop in TL sales. The 2nd Gen TL also sold well and got nearly 70, 000 sales per year in 99-01

WHEN THE FIRST OF THE 4TH GEN TLs CAME OUT, WITH THE BEAK GRILLE, I DEFINITELY WASN'T A BIG FAN OF IT. SINCE THEN, THEY'VE REALLY STREAMLINED THE GRILLE AND IT LOOKS MUCH BETTER. ALSO, AS A BIT OF TIME HAS PASSED, IT'S KIND OF CRAZY BUT ITS DESIGN HAS GROWN ON ME AND IT SEEMS TO GAIN MORE RELEVANCE NOW THAN THE IMPRESSION IT FIRST MADE ON ME A FEW YEARS BACK. I FEEL THE 4TH GEN TL's DESIGN WAS AHEAD OF ITS TIME, BUT NOW I FEEL IT'S DESIGN ACTUALLY LOOKS GOOD TODAY AND FITS WELL AMONG TODAY'S MODERN URBAN BUILDINGS AND CITIES.

If you're going to buy a Acura buy the 04 to 08 model. The 3rd gen was amazing.

I like your Acura 2013 TL model review more compared to this. Not sure I feel like 2013 model is better than 2014 model from your review. I don't have much knowledge about cars, but planning to buy a used Acura TL either 2013 or 2014 because of its back shape design. Which one is better when it comes to overall performance ?

The redesign wasn't the cause for the TL sales to be "cut in half". Have you forgotten about the recession? It hit right around when this 4th gen came out.
