Making a Walnut and Maple Knife stand ( or copying a plastic Horror)

I came accross this plastic horror whilst browsing aimlessly one day. After initially dismissing it with disgust, I scrolled buck up and podered for a bit, finally thinking 'That could like damn good in wood'!!!

I think you undersold the importance of finding inspiration from the mundane. We can exercise our creative muscles by looking critically at inexpensive mass-produced items and putting our own spin on it. Excellent piece Graham, very well done. Beautiful adaptation sir. I think the 5 degree cuts on the top really sets it off. You’ve taken it from a utility piece to an artistic piece.
